My Story

Hello, my name is Louise Chauvin Lapeyrouse.  I am a life-long resident of

Chauvin, Louisiana.  I started painting in 1994, starting with oils after watching Bob Ross, Helen Van Wyk, and later, Jerry Yarnell and Gary Jenkins.  I practiced for 5 years, creating a few

nice pieces, which most are on my walls.

I started working full-time, with no time off to paint.  I retired in 2014 and starting painting again, this time in acrylics and watercolors.  I paint flowers, native birds, swamp scenes and abstracts.  I have very eclectic taste.

In 2018, I became a member of the Bayou Regional Arts Council and was also inducted as a board member of the Friends of the Chauvin Sculpture Garden.

I sell my art by word of mouth, at art shows, craft festivals and on my Cajun At Art Facebook page.  If you are interested in my work, please message me there.
